Tram Belcanto

tram belcanto

Rome - Now . . . Rome's public transportation system is not exactly known for its . . ahem, strict adherence to schedules. This particular tram is probably no different, although you certainly won't be worried about "arriving" late in this case. tram belcanto

Alla Romana (Roman-style) they decided to make the journey the destination. During this tram's three hour traipse through the city every Friday evening, two professional opera singers share arias from Verdi, Puccini, Mozart, et al. with the "passengers" on board. It then stops by the Celio hill (one of the Seven) for an amazing view of the Colosseum, where a lovely sit-down dinner of delicious regional foods and wines is served onboard from the small kitchen set up in the back. Un caffe', some more opera and clanging through town, and it "arrives" back where it started. Maybe not on schedule, but definitely a train worth catching anyhow!
