As all great family businesses know…where there is passion there is continuity.
Paride Malavasi opened the Libreria (bookshop) Malavasi in 1940. He specialized in rare and antique books. Fortunately, his children, Sandra, Sergio and Maurizio, also loved the work of searching, buying and cataloguing volumes, often considered like members of the family.

One of their latest discoveries is a book of colored prints of ballet costumes by Leon Bakst for La Scala from 1880. Only thirty copies were printed and painted by hand.
The bookshop is an institution in Milan and a place to visit just to see what treasures they’ll pull off their shelves next!

Thanks for the great note and beautiful images. I worked 4 years in an antiquarian bookshop in London so a place like this brings back great memories. Definitely on the list for a Milan visit.
