Women love Italy because Italy loves Women.
The first thing that may come to mind are Italy’s handsome men who’ve mastered the art of flirting—so women of every age, shape, and size feel admired here.
But what we’re getting at here is the deeper adoration — the fact that Italy is a culture that’s been adoring women since the earth was cooling.
Every Roman worshiped Venus, the Goddess of Love and Beauty, who you’ll see posed nude all up and down the boot, seducing travelers to enjoy this land’s sensual pleasures. And you’ll constantly feel the presence of the beloved Madonna (even outside churches), an abundant, compassionate mother watching over you. With Venus and the Madonna reigning side-by-side, the whole spectrum of the female psyche is honored in Italy.
No wonder why women love it so much! Adoration for them is in the very air of Italy!

I loved this. It is so true!!!!! Grazie
Wonderful note. I will feel the love in about a month… :-)
Brava! I love it and I think Dan Brown would too!
Well it is one point of view. Very heterosexist though and not historically accurate.
Brava – something every woman should know.
But Italy most loves women like a boy loves his mama.
Ciao….
“I Love Italy” why shouldn’t I love it, I have a home in Sicily….

[...] Why Do Women Love Italy? [...]
Ciao there, glad to see this posted and all your comments. AND Very interesting to see that the men who’ve spoken up about this topic are not at all enthusiastic about my POV…
Sure, Italy loves us … as long as we aren’t mothers or over a certain age looking to find meaningful, full-time, well-paying jobs. Keep in mind that this is also a country where it’s perfectly legal to advertise work only for specific age ranges and a requirement that you submit a photo. And the idea that “the whole spectrum of the female psyche is honored” in a country where the dominant female media presence is an ever-revolving series of prancing, scantily clad bimbettes who rarely speak is so ludicrous I can’t stop laughing. Please do feel the love if you’re a woman on vacation … just ignore the eye-rolling of those of us who live here.
I absolutely love Italy, the countryside, the culture, the wine, the fine foods, the amazing clothing designs, the museums and especially the admiring the gorgeous Italian men or just listening to Italians speak their fine language. I think Italian has to be the most romantic and most beautifully spoken language.
This love for Italy is difficult to explain. I sometimes wonder – maybe because I fell completely and stupidly inlove with an Italian who shattered my heart and I even learnt to forgive him.
He taught me all about the beauty of Italy. How to live, love and enjoy every single moment on earth. How to find comfort in the simplest things in life and enjoy the beauty life has to offer us.
I got to discover Italy through his eyes and there is no better way of touring Italy than with a local.
It is true, if you are heart broken, sad or just need upliftment, go to Italy. She will love you, she will nurture you and take care of you.
I have been visiting various parts of Italy on an annual basis and sometimes alone and there is no tiring.
Thank you Italy.
I loved Christine’s comment. I really hit home. Living in Italy many times becomes more and more captivating, especially being flattered by Italian men. They are poets in themselves and make you fall in love, not just with them, but with everything about Italy. They are a catalyst which can make your experience that much more enjoyable and fun. A woman feels the warmth of Italy embrace her by the things she innately requires: the presence of beauty, affection, love, admiration and happiness which surround her no matter where you go from the Tuscan Hills to the hilltop towns of Siracusa, There is no escaping this utopia for any woman and the allure of drawing you back time and time again.
