Italy is beautiful at sea level, eye level and even at mountain-view level. However, views we don’t always get to see are from the air, offering whole new perspectives. Here a few examples. In order, some turf…
Gran Sasso Mountain, Abruzzo
Mountain ranges north of Benevento, Campania
Peaks of the Brenta, Dolomites, Trentino
And now that the days are getting longer and warmer, some surf…
Beaches of Chia, Cagliari, Sardegna
Sa Tuerredda, Sardegna
Fetovaia, Isola d’Elba, Tuscany
Thanks to our intrepid aviators, Luca Bertagnolio and Anthinula Tori, for these fabulous photographs.

Stunning!!! The best thing about flying (besides getting there faster) is the view of the earth from above! These photos of spectacular. Thank you!
A sweet hello from Frog Hollow Farm. Just beautiful – the photos made my heart sing. Thank you! Ciao, bella!
I prefer the Sardinian beaches to the mountains.
Its no wonder Sardegna is the favorite summer place of most Italians.
Thrilling photos.

Somewhere over the Italian Alps on flight from Rome to NY October ’09.
Sorry – it didn’t attach.
…so very beautiful from the air as you come and go,still landing is even more so, for it is then you see the faces of the people
At the end, when my life begins flashing before me, I’m certain one of my strongest images will be that first view of Rome just before landing.
These photos are spectacular. Thanks so much for sharing them….
“VOLARE,OH OH
CANTARE, OH OH OH OH
LET’S FLY WAY UP TO THE CLOUDS…”
These wonderful photos remind me of the one and only time I flew into Rome and the pilot told the passengers he was to gift us with the “Million Dollar View” of the city, so he tipped the plane one time to the left and one time to the right (at steep angles) and circled the city a couple times in order for all passengers to see the Eternal City from on high, though scary and really not what was needed after a trans-Atlantic flight, what a wonderful memory to harbor for the rest of my life… Volare, oh oh oh oh
