Opera Bosco an Unconventional Pleasure

A visit to OperaBosco, a team-building sculpture workshop, is an unconventional pleasure. This living museum in northern Lazio advocates use (and reuse) of natural forest materials in sculptures using all non-mechanized means; the projects are beautiful, curious, and thought provoking!

A giant bird nest here, a tufo carving there – hiking through the forest combines wild flowers, magnificent views and very sympathetic sculptures. Bring good shoes and water— the dirt trail takes you up and down the river’s banks and lasts about 90 minutes.

Opera Bosco, founded and run by Ann, a friendly French expat who speaks Italian and English, is in its 27th year. Alumni of OperaBosco continue to live in and around Calcata. If you are a photographer, there is not a bad angle anywhere. Well worth a visit. www.operabosco.com
